I received the advertised internet speed of 50 down and 10 up. My ISP provided a router that, for the PC on the ground floor, works well through a TP link extender connected to the router, delivering a steady 20 Mbps most of the time. On the first floor, two PCs are linked via the same extender (AV500), but the connection frequently drops and speeds remain below 10 Mbps. I’m unsure if the problem lies with the router or the extender. Also, I can’t configure the extenders, so devices connect smoothly between them. I assigned identical names and passwords to all network devices, yet changing my phone’s Wi-Fi position affects which extender connects. Any suggestions for these issues? Thanks ahead.

I’d attempt a wired connection for testing and check if you reach around 50 Mbps. If not, contact your ISP or consider switching to a nighthawk or mesh router. Just make sure the ISP isn’t limiting your speed first.
