Hello and thank you for reading.
My current RIG:
GPU:
(RTX 2070 AORUS SUPER)
CPU:
(Ryzen 3700X)
PSU:
(Corsair RM750X)
MB:
(MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon)
SSD:
(ADATA XPG SX8200)
RAM:
(G.Skill Trident Z Neo 3600Mhz 2x16GB)
Monitor:
(Asus PG278QR)
Games I'm building PC for:
Future GTA 6
Future ARK II
ARK Survival Ascended
ARK Survival Evolved
Shadow of the Tomb Raider
And probably trying out Cyberpunk 2077
What I mostly want to play right now is ARK Survival Ascended where my desired framerate is what RTX 4090 provides, but price range for that is way too crazy.
So my goal is to buy a system that would be strong for RTX 4090 or any stronger cards that may come in future while I just buy RTX 4070 Ti for now.
Now do I either wait a bit until 4070 Ti Super cards come out, or do I buy 4070 Ti now and wait for 4090 prices to drop and sell and swap it later or even wait for 5k cards in future.
Basically.... I want future proof system where I can swap GPU's around as I want and dont need to worry about anything else (such us motherboard not supporting a GPU anymore as with my current MB I went with B450 knowing I'm not upgrading GPU anymore until it's time to buy completly new PC)
Which is now! Should I do it? In most games I'm still fine with current rig but I want to enjoy some ARK without low FPS... strugling on 20-30 most of the time while sometimes it drops to 12-15 even, it's just starting to bring me less joy.
As for monitor I'm sticking to 2k gaming for now but I'd always be open to go 4k in future as well when I upgrade to far stronger card.
-------------------------------------
If any questions please ask me, any kind of support or suggestions are greatly appretiated!
Best Regards.

We'll continue moving forward into 2024, perhaps delaying the unit launch for Q2 in 2024.

The current PC has a good specification. Keep it for another year. Consider getting an RTX5090 when it becomes available by the end of 2024. Plan your budget accordingly and aim for a top-of-the-line setup.

Your system is already quite excellent, but updating the BIOS on your motherboard could allow you to upgrade to a Ryzen 7 5800X3D, which remains one of the top gaming CPUs. It’s more than sufficient for an RTX 4090 or RX 7900 XTX. I’ve added a review for the 14900K since it covers it and several other models for comparison. Regarding the graphics card, what is your budget? Your power supply is still adequate for anything less than an RTX 4090.

I have around 5k, but that also suggests I might be broke. I’m only willing to spend if it’s worth it. Christmas could bring family support on a budget. Many people suggest waiting, but I really wanted to avoid another year of struggling with low FPS in ARK. If I get a good motherboard that supports the RTX 5 series soon, I can buy a 4070 Ti now to enjoy gaming and save up for 5k cards later.

Or wait for an RTX 5xxx card or purchase a 5800x3d, a stronger PSU, and a 4090.

GTA 6 remains a year away from PC availability. Focus on what's available now and adjust as needed. Persistence pays off.

So now is the time to buy. Or maybe right after Christmas.
In truth, there’s always another opportunity around the corner. I upgraded my system last year. If I had waited a year, I could have obtained my current GPU for about £100 less, or a 15% faster GPU for the same cost, and a newer CPU, along with some extra FPS, while spending a year trying to run the latest titles.
Instead, I’ve spent a year enjoying great games without any stuttering. Including SotTR, one of the titles you mentioned.
Really, why endure months—or even longer—of 12 to 30 frames per second in a game you enjoy, while missing out on many others just because you might not hit triple-digit FPS?

It's understandable to question that. Running an RTX 5xxx card requires a stable platform, and a quality motherboard ensures proper connectivity and performance.
