Tell me the screen resolution you're using or the game you're planning to play, and your highest spending limit.

What is the budget? Reminder: there isn't a GTX 870 included.

I aim to stay under $450 and noticed I usually play at 1080p, though some titles don’t render well on my 670. This is causing me a lot of frustration... aha.

Then get a 970. It's a great card I love mine.

Considering more CUDA cores over VRAM could improve performance, especially for 1080p gaming. Based on the numbers, a 780 might be a better choice. However, since you haven't tried either yet, it's just a guess.

That's the case. 970 works best.
