Current specs: AMD FX 6300 AMD R7 260X GIGABYTE GA78LMT S2. Upgrading to FX 8350 would offer a noticeable performance jump. Whether it’s a major improvement depends on the workload, but it would definitely be a step up.

For demanding CPU tasks, anticipate up to 20% improvement. Games may not benefit significantly. Upgrading from 6300 to 8350 is only worthwhile if the change is free. You can test results with 3DMark yourself. Verify your search settings. Your system info: https://www.3dmark.com/fs/4468405. Upgrade details: https://www.3dmark.com/fs/5713400

You're experiencing FPS drops early in GTA V, likely due to your current hardware limitations rather than a single component. Upgrading the CPU might help more quickly than adding a 1GB GPU, especially if your system struggles under load.

Purchase the used Ryzen instead of spending on low-quality FX CPUs—WestMere can handle it, and upgrading to Ryzen 1000 will boost performance significantly.

I don’t have enough funds for a complete CPU, GPU, or RAM upgrade, let alone a PSU. The FX 8350 isn’t that bad after all; most folks focus on issues like poor VRM design and overheating from inadequate cooling. From a performance standpoint, it still works reasonably well even in 2022.

When examining the comparison, the change from an I3 to an I7 doesn't affect performance with your graphics card in GTA V. This suggests that having two processors might not create a difference, and the GPU could be the limiting factor.

Considering your choice of R9 280x 3GB, it could boost performance significantly. What other options are you looking into?

For older titles, you can look up comparisons on YouTube by checking CPU and GPU performance together. This helps you match your setup with real-world results. Not every benchmark is perfect—some sites like Digital Foundry offer useful insights, but performance changes can vary.
