Consider upgrading your CPU and RAM for better performance.
Hello, I'm looking to improve my PC within a 150€ budget. I have some options for RAM or CPU upgrades. The current setup includes an AMD FX processor, 2x 4GB DDR3 RAM, a GTX 1060 GPU, and a Hyper H410R cooler. Since I’m not comfortable with hardware building, I’d appreciate recommendations that are straightforward and reliable.
There isn't a good way to upgrade that CPU without upgrading RAM, which would also need a new motherboard. I would save up a little bit longer and get a much more modern platform. It isn't ideal for upgrading, but moving away from DDR3 would really help. Are you okay with used components? Which country are you located in? You could uncover better offers on eBay. Before committing to the new 12100, if you can wait a bit longer, the 6700k combo and Hyper 212 would still offer significant improvements over your existing parts.
I understand, second-hand items are fine, but shipping from abroad can be tricky. I’m not sure if they deliver to Serbia. For now, I’ll go with a DDR4 upgrade until my PC starts acting up, then switch to the latest model. Also, I’m curious—does my motherboard support DDR4?
