Hello all I'm upgrading my cpu from a Intel 6700k to a Ryzen 5600x, waiting for it to arrive along my new mobo and psu. I'm currently running some Ballistix elite 16go DDR4 at 2666mhz and was wondering if I should change them and get some 3600 mhz ram, I heard that Ryzen cpu's were more tied to ram speed than Intel cpu. why should i overlook the i7 10700 for 339$ with a mid-range z490 board, or the ryzen 7 3700x for 325$ paired with a mid-range b550 board? adding an aftermarket cooler will keep things quiet, and a 30$ upgrade is all you need. including 32gb ram for your new setup will make a big difference—otherwise you’ll be wishing you had more.
