Uncertain about any speed improvement; didn’t expect one. However, using two sticks is better because it reduces pressure on the memory controller.

there is a measurable difference in latency for access time in synthetic benchmarks depending on what kind of operations the CPU is doing. because more ranks can be accessed independently so you don't wait for how ever many cycles are left to wait for current operation to run. it just starts on the next one as long as the data block requested is on a different bank. but in what you and I do on our computers every day it's not something that you can notice. the number of cycles is the timings written on sticks people talk about when they say C18 or what not. that C18 means it takes 18 cycles for a requested block at an address to start getting returned back to the CPU

take note that my comment about infinity fabric only applies to ryzen CPUs, for them it's almost 1 to 1 improvement in multi threaded tasks. the new intel stuff have their own behavior for how CPU performance changes with ram speed.

I think your choice makes sense. There are instances where motherboards struggle with multiple sticks, but you’re aware it should generally function well. Some might recommend C16 memory, but just like SquintyG33Rs point about latency, for your use case it won’t make a big difference.

unless you're about to become deeply focused on ADHD... it's not worth your time to try to grasp past performance numbers. RAM becomes very complex quickly. like a CPU, it involves frequency, voltage, and architecture; just adding timings brings in 30 adjustments, all balancing in a tricky way that isn't as straightforward as these are better lower and these are better higher. for everyday use, sticking with better RAM is sufficient. you can watch videos explaining it through simple searches if you're interested in exploring further.
