I'm considering doing a 7950x3D. Most of the reviews I've seen are from 6+ months ago. I heard most of the problems have been fixed via bios updates. However, is it worth the hype and value or should I just wait until the next gen intel or amd processors come out?

It seems you're asking about a previous statement regarding using your PC. Could you clarify what you meant?

It depends on your specific needs. Choosing between 7950x3D and 7800x3D hinges on what matters most—extra multithreading or avoiding gaming performance hiccups. A single UEFI tweak can fix those issues. Next-gen Intel may adopt the 7950x3D but will use more power. Some tasks might match a 14900k with a well-tuned 13900k.

In that scenario, you might reduce expenses by choosing the standard 7950x. Most of the time, the 3D option isn't a major concern. You could also opt for the 7900x if you locate it used at a reasonable cost to save some money now and think about upgrading later.

Only one BIOS configuration exists, which involves turning off a specific CCX feature.

This configuration also handles the driver's tasks with CPPC, keeping the default as 'auto' which relies on the driver. The main drawback is that single-threaded applications may not benefit from the increased clock speeds of CCD1, such as a CineBench single-threaded setup.
