I just upgraded to a Ryzen 5900X with 64GB of 4x16GB RAM at 3200MHz. Lately I’ve been reading a lot, and many recommend upgrading to 3600MHz RAM. I’m wondering if the extra cost of replacing the current RAM and getting faster RAM is worth it, or if the performance gain isn’t enough to justify it.
In my view, it doesn’t offer value. I’ll probably retain my 32 GB 3200 even after upgrading to ZEN 3. It only makes sense if prices fall significantly, which I’m unlikely to see, and probably won’t.
Your performance is decreasing by approximately 2-3%, which is around 15%.
