Hello everyone! This is my first time posting here. I’m switching from my current AMD Ryzen 3 3200G to something better since it’s not meeting my requirements. I spend a lot on stats, data mining, and processing tasks—tools like RapidMiner, Weka, SPSS Statistics, a ton of Excel work, and handling large datasets. The 3200G is solid for its price, but I’m hitting a performance ceiling. It seems I need more cores and threads, which the 3200G provides with its 4C/4T architecture. My existing motherboard isn’t compatible with Ryzen 5th generation CPUs, so upgrading would require a new board. The first choice is a 3700X, which fits my budget for a basic graphics card like RX550. However, with Zen3 chips available, another path is to move to a 5600G or 5700G. These models have less L3 cache but are newer and more future-proof. They come with integrated Vega 7 or Vega 8 graphics, keeping costs down. I’d rather stick with a new motherboard than buy a new card for the 3700X. My plan is to keep the machine stable for a few years—what do you think? If it helps, my setup includes:
- Ryzen 3 3200G
- Asus PRO-A320M-R-WI-FI board
- 256GB SSD (system), 500GB SSD (data)
- 32GB 3200MHz RAM (dual channel 2x16)

Erm, yes it is, I have a 3200G in it. Also: https://www.asus.com/Motherboards-Compon...pDesk_CPU/ Edit: most probably that info is from when the A320 came out, but as far as I know (and per the official Asus info), it should be compatibel for the 3700X. For the 5600/5700 it isn't, I know, that's why the upgrade options that I mentioned with those processor include a new motherboard
