I’m thinking about getting a new router soon. I’m looking for options around $200 with good features like a ring doorbell and support for many devices. It should work well for gaming too. Since my current Netgear has been acting up lately—random disconnections—I’m hoping to find something more reliable. I’m not sure if a gaming model is better or just for profit, but I’d like to stay under $200 if possible. Any recommendations would be great!

It seems you're considering a mesh network for broader coverage. You mentioned a specific product link and noted its Wi-Fi 6 capabilities, which can reach up to 1.2 gigabits per second. For wired connections, a network switch works well with Ethernet devices, and you can find a basic 5-port switch for around $15. Your granddad successfully set one up without any help, showing how user-friendly these systems can be.

This sounds interesting! My father mentioned his sister had something similar, and I wasn't sure if it would work for us. Appreciate the recommendation!

Routers inherently face coverage challenges no matter the model, due to the basic limitations of 5GHz transmission. Mesh networks are designed to maintain stable connections by ensuring overlapping signals across devices. Keep in mind that effective mesh operation relies on sufficient signal overlap so users stay connected between access points.
