CAD and gaming rely on basic clocks and mostly single-threaded tasks. That’s why I’m going with 5600x.

Consider if you truly require the upgrade—its 1700x remains a solid processor despite being a bit newer. Also, verify motherboard compatibility before purchasing a CPU.

I think a 5600x setup would work well for your needs. You might need to upgrade your motherboard as well, because it's a B350 and I'm unsure if your specific board supports the Ryzen 5000. Even if you told me, I wouldn't be sure—check the forums. Also, The_Vaccine had a better take than I did: keep that in mind. Good luck!
