Hello everyone, it seems the situation in the UK isn’t a big factor here. We recently began a new agreement with Vodafone for home broadband a few months back. The connection works adequately, but my home is a 1950s building made of brick and concrete, and I’m not confident the router we received will perform well. For roughly £100, would it be better to invest in a mesh Wi-Fi system, a standard TP-Link setup, or opt for a more powerful router? My initial idea was a powerline internet solution, but with three generations of wiring in my house, I’m unsure it would be effective. It wouldn’t help with mobile WiFi either. I usually experience speeds between 45 to 55 Mbps, which isn’t very high, but it should suffice for gaming and streaming. I know you can’t give personalized advice without understanding the layout, but any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You're likely facing notable signal issues due to the age and condition of your home wiring. Mesh networking is your best bet. Estimating the size of your house will aid in determining the number of mesh nodes required. I currently own two Linksys Velop MX4200 routers, which perform exceptionally well and require minimal restarts. Linksys offers a wide range of routers, especially those supporting Wifi 6 or higher, promising strong performance.

Our home spans roughly 900 to 1000 square feet on the first level. The upper floors are more compact, centered near the ground floor. To ensure strong coverage, I plan to include the primary unit plus two additional nodes.

If you locate a Wi-Fi 6 unit with unified WAP support, you might secure excellent pricing while enjoying solid signal reach.

I've come across a lot about Unifi and Linksys. Both can handle what I require, but I don't think I have the funds to invest right now. I'm holding off but I really need a solution soon. I was considering these options, which seem to have strong reviews and good value. https://www.argos.co.uk/product/9513024?...R=plp:7:22
