I encountered the PC update issue. My main system works fine, but my gaming PC is quite portable. The simplest and most affordable upgrade would be switching to a 3600 model. A GPU upgrade would help, but I’d prefer not to spend $400. I’m just looking for something minor. Regarding your question, do you think the Gigabyte B450 Aorus M would function well with a fourth-generation Ryzen CPU?

It seems a higher CPU won't improve performance for a TV unless it supports fast refresh rates and proper display handling.

It’s not mainly set up that way. It connects to a 60Hz 4K TV, which means I’m using 1080p at 60fps. Just looking for something fun!

I’d hold off for about six months to secure a Ryzen 4000 series, then opt for something like the Ryzen 5 4600 or 4600X.

The Ryzen 1600 remains a solid CPU choice even today. You probably won’t need to upgrade it just for casual TV gaming at 1080p. It still looks decent enough for the next few years. Saw your comment too—wow, you really know your gear!

I believe the B450 Aorus M could manage an 8-core 4th generation Ryzen. If it does, you might consider replacing your 8700K with it to fully enjoy the multi-core performance.

Well, it seems you're thinking about extending the usage of that cocaine a bit longer, huh? Since upgrading to 3600 might not be ideal later on—especially with Gen. 4 nearing completion—it’s probably not the best move. I can’t confirm exactly what the situation is, but maybe around 60% would be manageable. My brother has over 1500 Ti, and honestly, it’s still a solid CPU for rendering Premiere, though his setup looks pretty basic.
