Same Issue here. Im doubting for a time now what to build to pair with 2080ti's Amd seems to be more then fine but if you wanna go that high in number with intel money aint an issue. but ill stick to the or: amd 3700x or 9700k/9900k those should be more then a policecops fine...but your money your choice. intel = pure gaming amd = workload but both can do pretty awesome
I have two 2080 tis. One has average performance and the other has above average performance. If I pair the average GPU with a 5ghz CPU it will beat(in games) the above average GPU with the non 5ghz CPU. The difference in price of the GPUs is $300(US) and that is much more the the difference in price of the CPUs($100 US). I am also a retired 3D graphic artist and even with 4 cores I had no issue with rendering times in non animation applications. What took the most time was creating textures in PhotoShop and actually creating the objects to be mapped and rendered. So not to be waiting around for renderings to be completed I used two computers. So what was more important than work load was workflow. I would use two computers if I was still working and it would not really matter what brand since I was the limiting factor not the amount of cores.
