While evaluating options for your setup, consider the performance needs versus your budget. Your current hardware supports 1080p and light gaming, so upgrading might be justified if you plan heavier use. For the GPU, the RX 6700XT is a solid choice within your $300 target, though it may limit performance at full 1080p. If you prefer smoother 1440p or future-proofing, the RX 6600 could work better than the 6700XT. For the CPU, sticking with the R7 5700X or R5 5600 is reasonable given your current specs and budget.

It would vary by use case since components just being present in the system don't face constraints under full capacity. A 1440p display could work regardless of load.
