I suggest a joystick and throttle instead of a controller, that's what I think.

SC Rule Number One: Always keep moving, never hesitate. What's the point of using a throttle?

The basic plan costs around 45 USD for a starter package that includes a ship and arena commander, which translates to roughly 30-35 pounds. For flying, a mouse and keyboard work well because they offer better control. Using a joystick with throttle would suit immersion more than precision or performance. I prefer a joystick paired with a keyboard setup—keeping the keyboard centered, the mouse on the right, and the joystick on the left. This allows me to handle flight smoothly using strafe-based movement. I also use a second joystick, but the mouse remains more efficient. If you're interested in hotas or joystick options, I can suggest some.

Joystick choices (from cheapest to most expensive):
- Logitech Extreme G3 Pro
- Thrustmaster T16000M
- CH products (flightsticks, combatsticks) – top quality and durable
- Thrustmaster Warthog stick
- Saitek x52pro
- Saitek x55
- Thrustmaster Warthog pedals

If you need specific recommendations, just let me know.
