The original Witcher might have a good story, but the gameplay is very outdated. It was difficult for me to get into it. It was kind of confusing to be honest. The Witcher 2 though... hell yes! Definitely worth it!!!!!

Witcher 2 is more like three smaller open worlds. You can't go back and forth between the lands though, which is very unfortunate and horrible oversight from the developers I think. But you get to spend a great deal of time in each land and there is a lot to explore. It's not Just Cause 2 by any means where you can go everywhere all day every day. Witcher 2 has a much more story driven events.
