I already have a Z690 setup, I’m just swapping the CPU. If I didn’t have a compatible board, I’d probably go with the Z790 for better compatibility, but it would be more expensive. Also, remember that the Z690 supports DDR4, so you could avoid spending extra on DDR5 unless you need faster speeds.
