I'm planning to enhance my system by installing 32GB of DDR4-3200 memory. Since running the 2x8GB G.Skill Ripjaws DDR4-3600 at certain speeds isn't feasible, I'm considering a 16-18-18-38 kit instead. It seems more manageable than trying to force four DIMMs onto my i5-12400F, which struggles with the XMP profile for the 18-22-22-42 DDR4-3600. I've noticed in reviews that some kits include chips from Changxin Technologies, a brand I'm unfamiliar with. This might explain why the price is around $59 for two 16GB modules. Although reviews mention possible inclusion of Samsung, Hynix, or Micron, I can find comparable kits from G.Skill and Corsair for about $10 more. Those offer similar speeds and timings. Should I avoid a kit linked to Changxin or go ahead with it?
Other options like Nanya and Spectek cover DDR4, Elpida was for DDR3 but it's unclear if they continued supporting DDR4, and Powerchips are uncertain. Samsung, Hynix, and Micron remain the most popular brands. I haven't heard much about Changxin personally, though it seems they're not a major player.
