Hello everyone, I've just made the decision to build my own PC and chose the i5-13600KF CPU. I don't play games much and mostly enjoy playing GTA V occasionally. My goal is to use this machine as a workstation for programming and similar tasks. An Intel CPU seems more suitable for this purpose, and the price of the 13600kF fits well within my budget at local stores in Bulgaria.
However, I recently read about issues with the 13th/14th generation processors from Wendel and GN. Some people advise avoiding them altogether. I don’t have deep expertise on this subject, so I’m here to ask for your thoughts: is it a good idea to buy a 13th generation processor now? Are there any key points I should know before making a decision? If experts suggest not using Intel processors with a 10-foot pole right now, what should I do? Should I consider switching to something like the 7600X and find a way to fit DDR5 components and RAM within my budget? Would choosing an AM4 socket still be viable, and would it affect performance noticeably?
As for my use case, I’m currently working on web development with some light ReactJS projects using TypeScript. I might explore modeling in Blender later, but only for personal enjoyment. This situation is quite dynamic and could change over time, so it’s worth mentioning. For gaming, the only demanding game I play is GTA V on a 1080p 166Hz monitor.
I’ll share the planned build details here in case they provide any extra information. My budget is around 2400 BGN (approximately 1340 USD or 1225 EUR). I’d prefer not to exceed that amount.

I've dealt with a customer who faced unusual problems with a 13700k. Even after sending an RMA to the board manufacturer with MSI and replacing the CPU, I didn't assemble the system. Instead, I purchased the components and provided an AMD equivalent. I believe this might be related to the VRAM error seen in some titles with a 3080ti, which causes crashes on other less demanding systems, sometimes taking days before they restart.
I've also built a 13900k for someone without any issues, except for a defective Lian Li AIO unit. That was on an MSI MPG Z790 with a 4090. It seems the problem is specific to the 13900k and 14900k models, while other SKUs likely aren't affected. For example, the 13600k CPU should be fine.
If you're still concerned, I'd recommend going with a 12700k, which offers similar performance at a comparable price. Good luck!
