If I see a resolution of 5600x at $200 or 5800x at $300, I’ll buy it. I understand that FPS improvements won’t be massive, but if it helps maintain stable FPS between 120 and 140, I’ll be satisfied.

Absolutely, that makes perfect sense. It's smarter to wait 2-3 years until DDR5 is fully developed. By then, we should also notice the end of supply chain issues.

Consider the 'Zen 3D' naming scheme or whatever they use by February 2022. This marks the final CPU line for the AM4 socket. It will clearly be a premium price point compared to the deals you're exploring. Still, it might be worth noting if you hadn't noticed it.
