But. That's what Ryzen does automatically already for you? You'd just need to set a manual fan curve so it's off or "silent" enough while idling. And it's probably not your fault but it should definitely go under 1v while idling automatically. Mine didn't. Then I updated the chipset drivers. Now it does. Don't get me wrong, it's fine, whatever works for you, it just seems unnecessary? Did you try update the chipset and possibly the BIOS? I'm almost certain AMD released very recently improved chipset drivers because the one I downloaded was very new, a week old, the chipset before that was very different it would basically idle at like 1.4v, which is just wrong lol. ^default automatic settings

since it hasn't proven beneficial yet, unless you're handling tasks needing fast storage. pcie 3.0 8x hasn't caused issues for GPUs either. i'm mainly updating the bios now. older bios were sometimes unstable, so keeping up with updates is wise. this is similar to what voltage offset does—no need to switch Ryzen master settings just to toggle between them. ryan can stay idle at very low speeds without affecting performance, anytime it's needed.

Adjust the voltage offset to achieve stable 4.175 GHz operation while keeping idle voltage below 1V. Determine whether you need to raise or lower the offset accordingly.

Only specific Bioses are able to handle both tasks simultaneously with "states." It seems more practical to recommend voltage offset only, since 4,175 isn't a significant overclock.

You're most welcome. Yes I think the new chipset drivers handle idle states much better, the CPU works as intended (downclocking itself when there's no high load) which it previously certainly didn't.
