You're considering adding Windows 10 to your system, but it's tied to a Microsoft account. The best approach depends on your goals—whether you want compatibility, cloud integration, or a fresh setup. Explore options like using a virtual machine or a Windows 10 installation media to maintain control.

You own a Windows 10 OEM version that comes with a motherboard, and there was a method to take the Windows 10 licenses away from your account so others could use them. I’m not sure about this anymore, as companies often remove helpful features. (I last saw this around 1.5 years ago.)

You can download a new version directly from kinguin without linking an account.

No, OEM licenses aren't tied to specific accounts. Purchasing from Kinguin can be risky since buyers often ask for new licenses after seeing errors like "Windows license expired." Consider selling without Windows 10 if possible.

The optimal method involves taking the PC apart to allow the buyer to inspect its functionality. Afterward, you can remove the components once the sale is complete.

Just reinstalled Windows, but the license prompts keep popping up. When asked for a key, I select "I don’t have one." On signing in, I choose "I don’t want to." Eventually, the system boots up as a fully working Windows 10 PC without any license or Microsoft account. That’s the condition I’d set for selling it. Functionally it works perfectly, though the desktop wallpaper remains unchanged.
