I've been using Windows 8 for nearly a year now. The HDD is packed with leftover files from programs that were uninstalled and other unknown data. It’s unclear if these files should be deleted, and the computer feels a bit sluggish. There’s no malware or virus detected. Should I just reinstall Windows?
It's always wise to start with a new setup. This is the simplest method for achieving a tidy system. But there are other alternatives as well.
Perform a fresh setup of Windows. You can remove all the unnecessary files you mentioned, but you’ll still retain registry updates or other hidden changes. Exclude the chance of deleting something essential and making your computer unusable.
