Thank you all for your advice and helpful clarification, particularly regarding the fire risk. I plan to buy a budget model with an RX 6600 right now, since I need a quick fix, and I intend to upgrade my PC later. Thanks once more and have a great day.
The 6600 offers significant improvements over the 970, with reduced power needs and double the VRAM. It promises a remarkable enhancement compared to your current setup. However, it seems insufficient for running 1440 at high frame rates; it would perform better on 1080 with higher frame counts. The 6600 closely matches the GTX 1080 in performance, achieving around 75 frames per average on recent games at high settings (1080). Running it at 1080/120 on top settings delivers solid results. In this scenario, upgrading to an XT or 67xx might be a reasonable option.
