I'm dealing with a scenario described by @WereCat. My system is nearly three years old (GPU about a year and a half old), and I'm considering an upgrade. Since I mainly play games at 1440p, any big improvement will probably be minimal. If you have a solid machine and can wait six months or more, it seems unnecessary to upgrade right now. My advice is to hold off if you can.
