I choose not to pre-order; I once tried and later realized it wasn’t a good idea.

Rockstar is right...Ubisoft is really not paying players enough for preorders!

It's safe to say you won't be hurting anyone before ordering. You'll receive payment for single-player and online play, though the amounts are modest. This means you can secure a decent living space or vehicle right away instead of waiting a week or more to save up.

I didn't affect the gameplay quality by placing a preorder. Just my take, though!

I've only ever placed two pre-orders: one that was great but not quite what I expected (LBP2) and another that I really enjoyed for a while, then I stopped liking it because the competitive scene had faded away (CoD Ghosts – seriously, the competition was really tough).

No. No point, what? Is it gonna be sold out on Steam? Lol. Just wait for release day and see how good of a game they say it will be. In the meantime, play some Dying Light. I'm playing through this game again and its soooo fun

they're thinking about pre-ordering because it shows interest, not just a casual comment.

I wouldn't. It's hard to be completely certain about console ports these days. These folks are suggesting they'll earn a lot of extra cash, but you could play for a short time and still receive the same pay.

It seems outdated to wait around for orders anymore. I get it—some folks think "never pre-order!"—but supporting Kickstarter projects makes more sense.
