Linux is a solid choice. If you prefer macOS, consider using OpenCore Project to install it properly. Alternatively, purchasing a Mac might be better if you don’t want to build your own ISO.

Keeping your work separate from your gaming setup is wise, particularly if you can physically place them in different areas. To achieve this, I connected my gaming rig directly to my TV and kept only my Mac and Linux desktops on my desk. I suggest you consider purchasing a new M1X 16" instead of selling your current machine for a PS5—this model is available now and offers a strong library. Connecting your older PC to the TV will provide similar advantages, and you can sell the PC later once the PS5 stock improves or game options expand.
