Hello everyone, I'm curious about the factors to consider when picking a CPU. For instance, comparing the i9-10900 and i7-10700k, their base frequencies are 2.80 GHz and 3.80 GHz respectively, but the turbo frequencies are 5.10 GHz and 5.20 GHz. Despite the difference in base speed, they seem similar. What makes them stand out? You can find more details here: https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/...328,199335
Consider core count, thread count, base clock, boost clock, power usage, heat generation, and other factors.
It should be, as 3rd gen is pretty close on must accounts, and 4th gen should be better than 3rd gen. Otherwise there is no point.
Pros. Improved board and platform. Reduced heat and power usage. Supports up to 16 cores. Better IPC. Cons latency. Multiple cxc channels available (except 3300x), resulting in higher single-threaded performance. Still overall a better option.
