Consider enhancing your system by replacing your motherboard.
I’m in favor of moving to AMD because it’s usually more affordable. The problem here is that I’d have to pay extra to buy a processor. Having something comparable to what I currently have would be sufficient, allowing me to sell my 8700k later for an AMD unit. I intend to upgrade the processor eventually, so being able to upgrade is advantageous. Usually I just purchase the motherboard, but in this situation I need to pay attention to the sound card and ensure it’s top-of-the-line.
