I own an AMD FX-8350 and intend to boost its speed to 4.8 Ghz. To achieve this, I need a superior cooler than the standard one. With a red theme on my PC, I’ve focused on the deepcool captain 120 and the cooler master v8 gts as my choices. I won’t be investing more than that, so any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Choose the Deepcool, but I suggest you opt for a Corsair H100i GTX. Then simply replace the radiator fans with some red LED fans.

It depends on how intense the overclock is; some high-performance setups need liquid cooling while others can thrive with a top-notch air cooler.

if you're going above 4.5ghz you need to liquid cool it. corsair offers excellent water coolers, which is why i suggest the h100i gtx. since you chose a red theme, i've linked you red led fans—just swap the ones that come with the cooler for the red led fans. this gives you great cooling performance and a stylish look.
