You're considering going back to Diablo, and you liked the original when it launched. You're curious about returning to RoS—you didn't play Inferno because you got tired of the repetitive story. It might be due to past events altering the world. Adventure mode and Loot 2.0 bring new features, but do they make the game more replayable compared to the original?

It's essentially the same thing. Just keep moving from one place to another, eliminate the troublemakers, and proceed to the next step. Don't anticipate anything major.

I haven't played the game in months, though it was enjoyable. I'm now reinstalling it.

Some highlights for you... The auction house is no more. Trading has stopped completely. You’re only able to exchange items with players who are active during drops, and even then, just for a short two-hour period. Most loot appears for the character you’re playing, not others. It mainly affects stats relevant to your current class. A new feature called "Gambling" has been introduced to compensate for the missing auction house. This involves gathering Blood Shards and spending them on gear. The Mystic lets you re-roll item stats. Many legendary items have been upgraded, and those that previously lacked special features now do. New seasons are available; season one ends in February and will feature leaderboards. Adventure mode offers random missions that reward keystones, caches, and experience points. Keystones unlock randomized dungeons called Rifts, which offer higher drop rates. Bigger Rifts have been added—essentially timed dungeons where all loot is kept until you defeat the boss at the end, who drops everything at once. Additional items like legendary gems, which are powerful and only found in bigger Rifts, have also been introduced. Overall, the core gameplay remains similar. Your power still comes from gear, your skills and levels have little impact. There’s no meaningful character investment. PvP remains cheap, optional, and largely pointless. Still, if you enjoy battling hordes and occasionally discovering useful items that might shift your playstyle, it can be entertaining. I’ve played it occasionally, but the allure faded after about six months. In that time, my total gameplay time doubled, and I’ve been playing Diablo 3 since its launch. Personally, I think RoS added many solid updates to Diablo 3, but if you’re after PvP, a strong economy, or better character progression, it’s probably not worth the effort.

I'm a veteran of Diablo. I appreciate the straightforward nature of the game. If you're interested, I can assist with US servers.

Classic Diablo fans definitely don't like D3. Do you have a soul, creature?
