You focus on other activities when you're not working in the field, and you research CPUs before making a purchase.

Refers to the 15th generation. The problems impact both the 13th and 14th generation processors. Intel just released a microcode update (0x12B) they say fixes the core issue once it becomes available. We're still unsure if this resolves everything or if hidden problems remain. Testing over several months is needed to confirm that newer CPUs perform better. This means we can't be certain yet that the 15th generation is safe (though Intel claims it is).

If it's absolutely necessary right now, like purchasing today, I'd probably choose something AM5. In a month we'll learn more about Arrow Lake's performance and it might become an option to think about. I'm weighing whether to swap out a second system, which requires more effort, and Zen 5 seems appealing for that. Since I'm not in a rush, I'll keep Arrow Lake on the table.

I am waiting for Arrow Lake myself. After that I am buying new hardware.

The top reply came from @manikyath. There was no relevant information about your computing requirements to guide our answers. It seems most users lean toward specific brands, resulting in popularity-based outcomes rather than practical advice.
