He needs a new router because his current one isn't working well. The main focus should be on getting strong signal coverage, since his home is large and oddly shaped. I found this info but thought Wi-Fi 6 offers good speed in such spaces.

Usually yes. WiFi 5 offers better performance for everyday use, providing a wider coverage area and often lower costs. Affordable TPlink PCIe wifi cards have met my needs https://pcpartpicker.com/products/wirele...ice&page=1
