You recently purchased new fans for your case, but you're having trouble placing one at the top due to the large grips on the 8-pin CPU connectors. Are those connections really necessary? Would it be possible to trim them off? Thank you ahead of time.

They play a key role in keeping the cable secure. If the fan stops working, opt for a thinner one.

It's possible to attach fans to the front of the enclosure if it's hollow. You can run the fan's power cable through the rear panel (including the empty PCIE cover slot?)
