Connectors for the fan are malfunctioning.
About four days back my computer would shut down right after turning on. I noticed the CPU cooler fan (connected to CPU_FAN) wasn’t working, so I changed the case fan linked to CPU_OPT and…it functioned even though the case fan failed. In the following days my CPU heated up right after boot but then settled back to normal temperatures. Now it seems to stop completely without any explanation. The CPU cooler works when plugged into either of the other two connectors. Adding some extra case fans suggests the original connectors might not be functioning properly, while SYS_FAN1 and SYS_FAN2 are still operational. I’m puzzled, could you assist? Also, four days ago my clock drifted 32 minutes behind real time. The remaining fan connections work, one uses a splitter to power two fans.
Generally, the CPU fan might be the issue, leading to overheating and excessive power usage. The fan itself could be failing, which may result in the headers becoming damaged.
