In the evening, I just relocated and changed my internet service to spectrum. It works well—speed is impressive. However, I’m facing a problem: my PC doesn’t get the connection I expect. I pay for 400Mbps internet, but on my phone, Wi-Fi gives me about 430–450 download speeds, which is excellent. The issue lies with my Cat 6 Ethernet cable on the computer; I only manage around 100 Mbps. I’ve checked all the settings and tried different ports and cables without success. I think it might be related to my PC itself, but I’m stuck figuring it out. Any suggestions would be really helpful. I’m using an Arris TM1602 modem and a Sagemcom FAST 5260 router. My motherboard is an ASRock Z170A-X1/3.1.

When you receive precisely 100 Mbps over LAN, the problem likely lies in configuration settings. Many switches and routers automatically switch ports to low-power mode, which can limit speed to 100 Mbps.

I experience a range from 100 to 112, which makes me think the setting isn’t fixed at 100. I feel like there might be a change or adjustment involved, but I’m not sure what’s causing it. What bothers me is that in my previous location I would see 170-180 with the same PC.
