I’m frustrated with the Wi-Fi adapter I own. I switched to a LAN cable for Ethernet, but sometimes I still need wireless for interviews. During power outages, I rely on a mobile data hotspot. I’m hoping someone can clarify what’s happening with my device or if there’s another solution.

Here are the details of my setup and adjustments in Windows 11 22H2 (Build 22621.3880):

- **Driver:** Realtek 8821CE Wireless LAN 802.11ac PCI-E NIC v2024.10.228.7
- **OS Version:** ASUS TUF FX505DY
- **Settings I frequently change:**
- regedit.txt → Windows Defender disabled
- regedit.txt → Shows Windows version in bottom-right corner
- Desktop → regedit.txt → Verbose logon
- gpedit.txt → Automatic updates turned off
- gpedit.txt → Forced restarts disabled
- gpedit.txt → Prevent OneDrive
- CMD → Run from right-click menu using the reg file in mods folder
- Firefox → Installed synced version
- Office → Installed
- KMS → Runs
- Microsoft login → Firefox & store
- Store apps updated
- Social media & owned apps – Translucent (not working on latest Windows)
- Armoury Crate, Radeon Software, etc.

Additional actions I performed:
- Installed and configured various extensions and tools (vscode, Notion, OBS, etc.)
- Updated Microsoft Store apps and services
- Changed browser settings (about:config, backspace action)
- Used GitHub Desktop and GitHub ACC login
- Enabled/disabled extensions, apps, and services as needed
- Adjusted performance and privacy settings
- Removed bloatware, disabled unnecessary startup items, and cleaned up services

If you need more specific help with any of these changes or troubleshooting steps, just let me know!

Given all these changes to Windows… It could be anything. I’d recommend starting with a standard installation and checking if it resolves the issue. If it works, your problem likely stems from something you added yourself.

Understood, I've got it—thinking about a fresh install.

You attempted to remove the Wi-Fi adapter via Device Manager and used the Remove Driver tool, then tried a system restart to let Windows reinstall it automatically.

Apologies for the delayed response. I attempted reinstalling drivers by removing it, and frequently performed network resets and disabled drivers before re-enabling it. In the viewer, I observed today that Windows halted this device due to reported issues (Code 43) and a Miniport Realtek error: "The miniport failed a power transition to operational power."

Consider using a custom driver instead of repeatedly installing the same software. Select one from the available options and use the Microsoft-branded driver for your Wi-Fi. This approach helps avoid repeated resets across multiple devices.

The issue often stems from Windows, especially with certain configurations like VirtualBox's bridged network adapter. It can reset the host network Wi-Fi at times, even when the device reports a connection. Sometimes it simply crashes despite saying it's connected.

Try lowering the transmitter power of your Wi-Fi adapter in the network settings. Most adapters default to full power, but reducing it can resolve the problem.

For your reference, I've reset the Wi-Fi driver and it's functioning now. Your notes are safely stored for later use, thank you.

Returned to the earlier version of the Wi-Fi adapter, and it’s now functioning. I THINK
