Connection speed is much lower than upload speed (issue)
Hi, I recently installed fiber optic internet and it’s extremely fast. However, my computer is the only one with noticeably slower upload speeds. The download remains consistent at around 100mbps. I’ve checked everything—updated drivers, removed some programs, etc.—but nothing seems to fix the issue. The Ethernet cable is connected to my motherboard, so the problem isn’t there. Have you encountered a similar situation? Could it be related to hardware or configuration?
Typically upload speeds are lower than download speeds, but this is not normal. You should be receiving around 1000mbs with fiber optic. It’s better to use Ethernet when possible since it’s much faster. Consider restarting and reinstalling your Wi-Fi drivers while connected to Ethernet.
We have an active subscription for 100Mbps. I’m currently using Ethernet and have removed my Wi-Fi drivers—previously I had a USB dongle, but now I won’t use this PC on Wi-Fi either. The issue started before uninstalling those drivers, so it’s not the cause.
You're unsure why the PC isn't working on Wi-Fi but is fine with Ethernet. The issue might be related to network settings or drivers.
It's not acceptable. He's achieving 7Mbps upload over Ethernet, whereas the FTTH link should provide equal speeds in both directions and across different devices.
Sorry to hear that. Did you remove the wireless drivers too, or only the Ethernet ones?
Do you own a separate firewall or network enhancement tool comparable to the Killer Networks program? If you had configured one of these applications to manage quality of service for your previous upload performance, it may require updates.
The issue you're facing involves Ethernet. (Problem: Upload speeds are ten times slower than download, whereas the other laptop using the same cable works properly.)
