It's strange... our internet works perfectly when others use it, but not when my boyfriend uses his MacBook. Right after he unplugs from work and connects, the whole network freezes. After roughly 90 seconds, the router restarts and the Wi-Fi returns, working normally again—including on the MacBook. This issue began after we moved into a new apartment with a different ISP. We're using my Linksys router, which has been around for a few years. I don’t recall any past problems. What details should we look at to understand what’s happening?

That's unusual... It might resemble a virus. Consider installing something like Glasswire on two devices—a Macbook and a phone. Use the phone to track the network, and observe any shifts when the Macbook launches or the network fails.

I don't believe it would be something related to too many clients going through it. I would not put it past that though if its a few years old and its breaking which can happen. This is a hard one. I guess it would be helpful to know what linksys this is so that its tech specs can be looked up.

Apologies for the delay, and thank you for your assistance (unless that's some kind of bias). The device is a Linksys EA2700. Updated: It seems most people on Newegg dislike this model.
