Connection issues are occurring intermittently.
I came here because I had no ideas about what was happening or how to proceed. Occasionally the internet would drop out. I rebooted the router, changed cables, switched to another router, and tried a different DNS server. My ISP says everything looks normal on their side and doesn’t see any issues with me. Even during the temporary outage, I could still reach their default gateway. I’m starting to think the smoke from California might be affecting things, but why would it still connect to their tower? Anyone else have suggestions?
Your setup is using copper or fiber; weather effects are minimal except in very harsh conditions. What’s your network setup?
I possess an antenna on my property that is aligned with their tower: https://www.wifi-stock.com/details/ubiqu...-Gen2.html. It links to a Netgear R7000 router, which in turn is connected to a TP-Link Deco M5 operating in AP mode. All wireless and wired connections become unstable.
So without searching for days or weeks to understand the issue. My ISP just moved me to a different area. The connection is now much better. What happened? We might never find the answer.
