Connection issue on Ethernet occurs intermittently.
Hello, I'm dealing with a puzzling issue that has been lingering since 2015 when I set up my computer. For internet access, I rely on two 500 mbps powerline adapters from TP-link and an Asus Nighthawk R7000 as the router. The powerlines function properly, offering speeds far superior to standard Wi-Fi. However, a recurring problem appears: the Ethernet connection intermittently switches to 'limited' or 'unidentified network'. This occurs roughly 5 to 30 times daily, though sometimes it never happens. To restore connectivity, I usually disconnect and reconnect the Ethernet cable, which occasionally resolves the issue on its own. The duration between events varies widely—sometimes just a few hours, other times only minutes. The displayed 'limited network' status can change dramatically; sometimes it disappears in under 10 seconds, yet sometimes it persists for an hour before returning to normal. Interestingly, this only happens during certain activities like browsing the web, streaming, or video editing, but not when I'm gaming or chatting on Discord. It seems the problem might arise when network activity is minimal. I've checked the adapter settings for power management, but found no relevant adjustments. When using my laptop with both cable and powerlines, the issue disappears entirely, suggesting the problem lies with my PC itself rather than the cables or adapters. This is quite frustrating, as constantly having to remove the cable from the back of my machine is inconvenient. I really appreciate any guidance you can provide, as it would make a big difference. If you need more details, feel free to share. Thanks in advance!
