It functioned properly for a day before stopping unexpectedly. I chose to perform a clean installation because I suspect my operating system may have been compromised by malware introduced when my sister connected a USB drive. I ran scans using Malwarebytes, Avast, and my brother recommended BitDefender, but none were available. Thank you for all the advice and good luck in the coming days—my brother will handle a fresh clean install to restore the PC.

Check connections on other machines via command line. Use ping to test. If the same LAN cable is linked to your sister’s PC, verify for any issues. If everything looks good, proceed with a full system reinstall or update drivers at most once more.

No issues on the other machine. I reinstalled the driver to the manufacturer’s recommended version. I’ll check again tomorrow; if it still doesn’t work, I’ll wipe it clean with a Windows install. Thanks for calming me down—this is why I’m nervous about tweaking my PC!

Sure, proceed with the reinstall. Alternatively, you can simply refresh your PC instead of doing a full reinstall. It's straightforward—your programs stay intact. Just download Windows, open setup.exe, or go through the advanced options.
