You have an access point linked to your router, and everything seems fine. I attempted to connect the AP using a new switch I received, but it didn’t work. I keep hearing about getting an IP address, thinking that means it’s not connected to the router. I’ve checked all the ports on the switch (the one from TP-Link version 15: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/download/tl-sf1005d/). Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

The connection appears on every device. A packet capture reveals activity passing through the switch. You received a 10/100 interface due to the current setup. Consider upgrading to a gigabit interface for better performance.

I think I got the first one I saw. Thanks for clarifying. What exactly are you asking about the link?

The connected devices display a link-up indicator. There is a light beside the port.

Both ports are illuminated, including the access point.

Do you have another test switch available? I'm leaning toward a bad one. You might want to run some packet caps if you're serious about troubleshooting.

It seems very improbable they’ll work out of the box. I’ll still attempt a router reset.

Yes, the switch is also linked to the router via a cable.
