Hi, for your setup I’d suggest a more reliable connection method. Since cable isn’t ideal, consider using a dedicated Ethernet switch like the TP-Link TL-SG1005D. Connect it to GPONT and set up a wired link between your PC and PS4. You can add additional switches in your room for more devices. This setup should offer faster speeds, less interference, and stable performance. If you need extra devices, a proper switch will help manage traffic better.

You're looking to set up a local network with fiber and GPON. You'll need a router from a reliable manufacturer. If you have the expertise and funds, you could also opt for self-hosted solutions like pfSense. For better performance, avoid 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi in residential zones due to interference; 5 GHz can help if supported, but Ethernet remains superior. Skip wireless bridges or extenders—they usually degrade stability and increase latency. If you must use wireless, choose a solid access point. I suggest using switches and dedicated cabling for the most reliable connection.

I prefer cable because it’s more dependable than Wi-Fi or PLC. But since I’m renting a flat with two other tenants, I need to avoid visible cables. The landlord and roommates don’t want any wires showing, especially when doors are opened. That means I have to choose between Wi-Fi and using two switches plus PLC.
