Hey everyone, I’ve received permission from my parents to check setting up Ethernet in my room. I’m still figuring out the right cable length and speed details. Any advice or guidance would be really helpful—I’ll share any extra info you think is useful. Thanks!

cat 6a works well for rj45 connections, though it costs a bit more than cat 5e. It also offers some future-proofing benefits.

If you require something longer than 10 feet, I suggest Cat 6a.

Ensure you're using cat5e for compatibility. 6 offers better future support at over 1 gbps.

Cat 6 works just fine too; you don’t have to upgrade to 6A. It supports up to 10Gbps over 55 meters (about 180 feet) and is simpler to install.

It seems you're asking about the maximum speed limit for Cat 6 versus Cat 6a. Cat 6 supports up to 10Gbps, while Cat 6a typically handles speeds around 10Gbps as well, but with better performance in certain conditions.

That's incorrect. The measurement is 55 meters or 180 feet.
