I adhere to the ISP's guidelines... (Actiontec t3200 is the combined device). I connect the other router (TP-Link AC-1900 Archer C9) to the modem's WAN port. On the router setup page, I configure it as a PPPoE connection and enter the provided credentials from the ISP. Aaaaaaaaanddd doesn't resolve the issue... I've reviewed both manuals and followed instructions precisely. Still no success. The ISP is Windstream, by the way.

The modem includes a weak router, so I'm switching to using the TP-Link router instead.

I connected it to the LAN port and everything is functioning together. Should I turn off the wireless settings on the other routers to avoid any conflicts?

Here are two choices available. What you've set up so far works only as a WiFi access point, not as a router. If you want that setup, you'll need to disable the DHCP server on the Archer C9 to avoid conflicts with your modem or router. This won't enhance your broadband speed because the ISP router still handles all the tasks. For the second option, did the ISP provide instructions to place their router in modem/bridge mode? That would allow you to use the Archer C9 as a full router, which is likely faster and more adaptable than relying solely on the ISP's device.

From what I've learned over the years, you shouldn't connect the WAN port to the modem. Use a LAN port instead. Additionally, change the combo unit to bridge mode, which will disable the router function.

It's all fine now; they provided the incorrect guidance.
