Hello, I'm starting to assemble a new computer for the first time. Most of its parts are brand new except the graphics card. The card uses a 12-pin connector, while my old system had an adapter that converted from 2x8 to 12 pins. My current PSU is an Asus ROG STRIX 850W Gold Aura EDITION. I need advice on connecting it. I have a 12+4-pin adapter that splits into two 8-pins, but my adapter only provides one 8-pin. Is it possible to use the 12+4-pin version to connect to the adapter and then to the graphics card? What 3070 do youhave? If this is a 3070 Founders it came with an adapter for 1x8-pin to 1x12-pin. So the adapter you have requires 2x8-pin connections? Your PSU comes with 3x independent PCIe cables so that's not an issue. Your PSU also comes with the later 16-pin connector for current generation 4000 series cards and its backwards compatible with 30 series cards that require the 12-pin. Both methods will be fine. It isn't the original edition version. I own an Omen 25L pre-built model, suggesting the graphics card is OEM from HP. The power supply included only one dedicated PCIe slot, not three separate ones; it had one 8-pin and one 12-pin, which splits into two 8-pin and a new 12-pin for 4000-series cards. I’ll include photos of the cables—this one is the adapter from my previous setup and another is the cable converting 12-pin to 2x8-pin.
