Connect your internal USB 2.0 port to a 3.0 port
I just completed a build on the MSI Z390 MEG ACE motherboard. My case has an internal RGB box needing USB 2.0, I own a NZXT HUE 2 for fans that also requires USB 2.0, and my NZXT Kraken cooler needs a USB 2.0 connection to function. The issue is the board only has two USB 2.0 headers. I’m wondering if using breadboard wires to connect the cooler to a USB 3.0 port would work, since USB 3.0 is backward compatible with 2.0. This reminds me of another project where I had to adapt a non-standard setup. Any advice would be really helpful!
I’d need to wait for the shipment and I already possess the cables, so I wouldn’t have to spend money on a converter.
